During the event we talked about the evolution and performance of all Garbage Collection algorithms written for Oracle HotSpot Virtual Machine, from the early beginnings to the latest Java releases. Each algorithm was given a brief explanation as well as some of the advantages and disadvantages related to its use, the nature of the application and the system requirements suitable for them.

Around 30 people took part in the event and the feedback we received was very positive. This is just the beginning of our partnership with BJUG and we will be working together on other events aimed at Java enthusiasts.
